Evaporation rate of acetone. State of the art and sensitivity analysis
Résumé
Liquid rate of evaporation is one of the major concerns in chemistry industry and finds some applications in industrial risk assessment. This last point motivated researches to develop correlations quantifying it. This paper applies the most used correlations against a fully instrumented experiment involving acetone spilled upon a concrete soil. After presenting the results, id, mass loss, temperatures inside the liquid and the soil and evaporation flux versus liquid temperature and time, this paper describes the shifts between experimental and theoretical mass loss and temperature. Then a local sensitivity analysis of the different correlations is presented and the consequences of a shifted set of data are discussed.
